OG !LLA (formerly known as So !LLA) is a man of ambition. Born and raised in Richmond, VA he is a staple for Hip Hop in RVA and a great example of the independent grind. He is the founder of Broad Street Elite/HLGNLIFE and is currently working on building on his career as an artist. Often praised for his higher standards the Broad Street Elite movement has become a common name in the RVA music scene creating a small musical cult of loyal followers.
Growing up in foster care gave him great perspective on life. Uses his music as his voice to speak for those who feel they are just a number. After losing a soccer scholarship at VCU ILLA found this voice and dedicated himself to creating music full time, even leaving college to due so. After teaming up with Kingdom ILLA shared stages with many hip hop artist such as: Riff Raff, Lil B, Ace Hood, Action Bronson, Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, Los, Vinny Cash, Kid Daytona, Jarren Benton, Phil Ade, Cory Gunz and numerous other independent artist.
ILLA finds inspiration in life for his music and often refers to himself as a reality rapper. OG ILLA strives to continue to impress with music and build with Broad Street Elite. Hard work, dedication, and grind.
OG ILLA's latest release "Slippin Away" is a stunning short film that really visualizes the song. You can feel the hunger and the pain in the video as he seeks to regain himself. The song is raw but heartfelt as ILLA does his best to remain strong even in his weakest moments. This is the definition of Art, Music, and pushing the barriers of Hip Hop.
